THE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

This program takes care of the training and formation of the student volunteers (SACSI volunteers) in promoting and propagating values and principles necessary for “a life of dedicated service”. They serve as the concrete mechanism of actualizing and continuous training and formation. The program also provides venues for the volunteer to live out these principles and develop a social conscience in order to be agents of change in a culturally dynamic society

THE ADVOCACY PROGRAM-
COMMUNITY BASED

The community-based advocacy program focuses on social formation of the institution that aims to advocate conscientization in multiple perspectives; psychosocial, socio-cultural, and socio-political. The program seeks to appreciate the concepts and theories of conscientization through immersing and exposing the students to the different fields through the inter-religious dialogue and interculturalism, environment, and the life of laborers especially in the grassroot level focusing on the inner conscience of the human being that leads to greatness. Among its major activities is the Social Involvement Month (SIMO) and the Exchange Program.

THE ADVOCACY PROGRAM-

ISSUE BASED

The issue-based advocacy program caters to socio-political matters that aims to involve students, faculty, and staff in activities, events, and programs revolving around raising of awareness, creation of statements, leadership for nation-building, and development of actions addressing the socio-political issues affecting human experiences in the University, Zamboanga City, Region IX, Mindanao, and beyond.

THE NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM-
ROTC

The Reserve officers’ training corps aims to organize, train, motivate, and mobilize tertiary level students for national defense preparedness. In partnership with the Philippine Air Force, the AdZU-ROTC is capable of offering different services.

THE NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM-
CWTS

Civic Welfare and Training Service (CWTS) Component is focused on programs or activities that aim to improve the general welfare and quality of life for the members of the community. It also seeks to enhance facilities dedicated to health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, safety, recreation, and morals of the citizenry. The CWTS component of the NSTP emphasizes the importance of youth involvement in various broad programs or activities that can have a positive social impact and benefit the people, particularly in the areas of health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, safety, recreation, and morals

THE NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM-
LTS

The Literacy Training Service (LTS) is a program specifically designed to train students to become teachers of literacy and numeracy skills. Its main focus is on providing education and training to school children, out-of-school youth, and other segments of society in need of their services. While the LTS has a more limited scope, its objective is equally valuable as it aims to empower the people through education. This specialized program plays a significant role in strengthening the education sector and making a positive impact on society by improving literacy and numeracy skills among various groups.

THE SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAM

The Service Learning Program (SLP) in the Ateneo de Zamboanga University is a ladderized formation track through the SACSI office which is designed to cater college students. It is a continuous process of learning that is unique from other SLP’s of different institutions, since it will break through the academe, its participants will undergo a series of activities and different processes of development that allows them to be formed individuals. AdZU SLP prepares the students to face the realm of realities, witnessing the stories and what is happening in personal and social communities will develop social commitment and responsibility among students. These will lead to self-actualization of reaching potential goals, feeling the sense of connection and purpose in life, professionally and being with the community.
